I'm still working on my commission-
Its going to be my interpretation of the crying Virgin Mary (La Virgencita) with some red roses. The daughter requested it for her mom as a gift. I loved looking up images of Mary. She has been depicted by so many artists throughout history, at so many different ages and in so many different styles. I have done angels in the past but this is going to be my first religious Icon. I am already having fun gathering the materials. I will post some pics this weekend.
P.S. For all of you Tim Burton fans out there, this is the new Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait to see her and Johnny Depp in this remake.

You mentioned you were going to start making characters that were a little weirder, if so, why don't you join mrsbo?
That way you can participate in a challenge and even in doll exchanges between members
MRSBO Group Membership Requirements
There are two ways to join our group.
1. Private invitation to join.
2. Submit examples of your work by providing a link to your blog or website and describe yourself as an artist. Email requests to coppermouse_dolls (at) yahoo (dot) com. If you are accepted, you will receive further instructions.
As a member, you will be required to make a minimum of two MRSBO dolls or other related artwork. You may work in any medium and sell on any site.
That sounds wonderful Kamila, thank you so much for the info. I will contact coppermouse asap. I have had a few creepy characters in mind but I wasn't sure what I would do with them if I made them. I offended and lost some of my customers a few years ago when I made a chinese nude dragon lady. The people that have bought my pretty fairies and cute babies were not too eager to see my work change, but I think I need to do it for me. Thanks again Kamila.
Rosanna,
I have just awarded you the Marie Antoinette award! Congratulations! You can pick it up at my blog and I hope you do because you deserve it....suck amazing skill!

Rosanna, it's so nice to visit your blog and see your beautiful art!
I look forward to seeing your Mary piece. I love anything to Mary...Our Lady of Guadaloupe is one of my favorites. I'll be back to see how she is coming along. :)
Thank you Marilyn, I'm honored that you stopped by. I also love things of Mary and Joan of Arc. I have a small collection of pictures I have found at antique stores. I am very drawn to the ones where they look very young and still childlike.
I love your blog. Your dolls are amazing! And you have two pugs! Truly an enchanted life :-)
Thanks Diane, I feel I am truly blessed. My puggies are awesome. ; )
